PUDDLEDUCK FARMPRODUCTS |
We have yarns and blankets made from our own fleeces. The purchase of these products help in the conservation of endangered breeds by making them a viable enterprize in todays world. These almost forgotten domestic animals of the past have a hard time competing with 'modern' breeds of today. Generally these 'minor breeds' are smaller, take longer to mature and grow less wool than their modern counterparts. They make up for this in the fact that they are hardy, healthier and they live longer. They are superior in 'intelligence' to today's breeds of sheep.
The Navajo yarns are specially spun singles for Navajo type weaving. We have natural colors as well as some dyed, vibrant South Western colors. The yarns come in 3 weights. A heavy, a medium and a fine. The greys and the white are $28 per pound ($7/skein). Other natural colors (browns and black when available) and dyed yarns are $32 per pound ($8/skein).
|
We have 10 dyed colors and 5 natural colors: Teal, Blue, Red, Ocre, Sage, Rust, Nite Skye, Spruce, Mesa and Maroon in the single 2 strand, white and greys and limited amounts of black and brown in the natural.
